OUR STORY
Welcome to the Vanderven Foundation.
A nonprofit organization that encourages a broader and deeper understanding of the Fine Art of Portraiture and its inherent classical and traditional practices in drawing, painting and sculpting.



Vision
Setting a new standard in art education, the Vanderven Foundation aspires to create the leading independent training institution for painters and sculptors in the world.
Mission
To establish the Vanderven Institute as a world-class institution for art training.
To prepare young and exceptionally talented painters and sculptors for major careers in the arts.
To provide a platform for emerging world-class talent to display their skills and to enter the fine art profession at the highest possible level.
To establish the Vanderven Institute as a center for excellence in the fine arts of painting and sculpture and to attract leading professionals and academics to support the development of our studio artists.
To develop and foster close international relationships and collaborations with leading art scholars, museums, higher art education institutions and post-academic young artist training programmes throughout Europe and beyond.
To weave the Vanderven Institute firmly into the cultural fabric of Florence and its regions by providing first class, high quality artistic exhibitions and to increase accessibility and inclusion via its enrichment programme.

Support The Vanderven Foundation
Your support is important to us. Our mission is too preserve and promote the classical arts of drawing, painting and sculpting in their broadest sense. With your donations we would like to realize; Space, Tools and Mentorship for upcoming artists and students who display exceptional artistic talent.
Our short-term goals are:
- To promote the goals and spirit of the Vanderven Foundation by creating an Ambassador Portrait Gallery.
- To promote the goals and spirit of the foundation through education by organizing workshops and lectures on the lives and techniques of the Old Masters.
Our long-term goals are:
- An Artist-In-Residence program.
- A Scolarship Grant.
- An International Portrait Competition with an emphasis on technical excellence.
- An institute that offers Space, Tools and Mentorship for the talented.
